Wanderlust Layout.

Wanderlust LO ScatteredConfettiHey there 🙂 Today I (Kathleen) am sharing a layout with you that I made using some pretty pieces of the Wanderlust set. I think it’s the perfect set to go with any travel and vacation photos 🙂

And now that the summer holidays here in Germany come nearer and nearer I am in full wanderlust-mode!! I can’t think about much else 😀 This summer we’ll be back at the Costa Brava in Spain and if you have seen the last layout I posted here on the blog, you might know that I am completely in love with this region!! Especially the little town of Cadaqués, where the photo of the LO last time and this one were taken – it’s just so picturesque!!

Anyway, I kept the LO quite simple (I made it after a Marcy Penner LO that I had pinned) in order to keep the focus on the pretty wood veneer and acrylic piece and my journaling.

Wanderlust LO ScatteredConfetti

The photo doesn’t do the bright blue justice – it’s even prettier in person! And it fits my new-found love for the colours blue and brown (on my layouts) perfectly 🙂

I guess this weekend I’ll need to scrap some more pictures of our past Costa Brava trips to still the urgent sense of wanderlusting and travelling 🙂

What about you, is there a place where you always find yourself going back to in your holidays?

Yosemite Outdoor Adventure…

Hello! Becky here today sharing the first couple of pocket pages from our Yosemite Family Vacation back in August 2012! Yes – I am THAT behind!

For this project I am using an older collection but one that I have hung onto specifically for this project! The paper line is called Take a Hike and it’s actually a retired collection from Simple Stories.

The album I am using is the 9×12 Woodgrain album from Studio Calico. For my cover page I used a design 1B – 9×12 page protector and my Fuse to split the page up into small shaker pockets all the way around my title (and journaling, which is on the back) and then filed the pockets with sequins, resin shapes, wood veneer pieces and paper leaves. The cover page was so fun to make and came out exactly as I had pictured it in my mind (I love when that happens)! I also used the word “adventure” from the Color Cast Designs Wanderlust set which was part of the May release!

My second page is all about our first look at Yosemite while driving into the Valley for the first time ever!

 I used a design 3B – 9×12 page protector for this page.

The Happy Trails Triangles are seriously so dang perfect for this project! I was ecstatic to see them in Jessica’s May release!

The word “outdoors” is another piece from the Wanderlust set – I love how you can layer the semi opaque acrylic over other elements without completely covering them up!

On this page I added another shaker box using my Fuse and on the backside I added the mountains triangle from the Happy Trails Triangles set.

The 2B -9×12 page protector may be my favorite design with 18 3×3 pockets!

I paired three more of the Happy Trails Triangles with the Happy Trails Expressions for this spread.

The Color Cast Designs wood veneer pair so well with the earthy colors in the camping themed papers. I am really happy with how this is all coming together so far!

We camped at the Wawona Campgrounds in Yosemite National Forest and the South Fork of the Merced River runs right along the campground which was absolutely perfect for the kids! We spent so much time playing and lounging in the river — the perfect camping vacation activity!

The “In the Summertime” wood veneer piece is from the Summer Love set. All of the summer lines really can be mixed and matched for all your summer activity scrapbooking!

The final page I am showing today is from our first hike around Meadow Loop in Wawona. I love adhering the Color Cast Design embellishments right onto my photos like I did here with the “get outside” sentiment from the Happy Trails Expressions set.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look today! Be sure to pick up all the summer sets from the Color Cast Designs shop and take 10% off your order with the code, “becky”!

The Magic of Nature

Hi everyone, its Mandy here today!  Its good to be back here and I’m excited to be sharing a layout I created recently using items from two of the newest Color Cast Designs sets, “Wanderlust” and “Happy Trails”.

My husband and I love to explore the mountainous region we live in.  We’ve taken so many day trips and long weekend explorations that I’ve actually lost count. As a result of these trips, we undoubtedly have an exponential amount of photographs waiting to be scrapbooked!  These two new sets from Color Cast Designs work so well with so many of my photos that I feel like I could use twenty sets and still want more!

turquoiseavenue-may-colorcastdesigns-4

Its quite obvious that I have a deep love for wood veneer shapes, so I couldn’t resist using a couple on this layout. As always, I love the natural, authentic feel they give.

Thank you Color Cast Designs for these incredible elements!

Houseboat Party!

Hello everyone!  Today I’m here with a Project Life spread using Color Cast Designs’ “Happy Trails” triangles, “Happy Trails” expressions, and “Wanderlust” sets!  Although I haven’t been camping in forever, I did go to the lake with a group of friends and many of the wood veneers were just as fitting.

I love the way the green “outdoors” is somewhat transparent to let the photo show through, but opaque enough to legibly stand out.  Again, I used my edge method to adhere the acrylic by stretching glue dots along the very edge of a few letters.  This way, you cannot see the adhesive showing through.

IMG_4596

I always use 3×4 vertical or 4×6 horizontal photos in my PL spreads, but what to do when you have a horizontal photo and a 3×4 pocket to fit it in?  Cut it down!  I was luckily able to cut a bit off the right side of the photo and then mounted it on a card.  The campfire triangle was the perfect embellishment to “ground” the photo.

IMG_4594

Last but not least, I wanted to balance the spread, so added a couple more wood veneers to my photos.  The “glamping” I placed on top of a stamped label.  Layers are always fun!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my pages!  I bet you can’t resist those Happy Trails sets even if you don’t camp!  Summer barbeque anyone???

Wanderlust layout ~ May new release

Hi again!

Kim here to share a layout using pieces from the new Wanderlust set!

We don’t do much traveling, but come summer and fall you will find us at our cabin enjoying our little mini getaways!

imageMy grandfather built our family cabin in the 1940’s…so it’s really been around a long time and has had several updates through the years! The one thing that hasn’t changed is the lake! Man, I love it there!

imageI was so happy to add these perfect pieces from the Wanderlust set to compliment my layout. Don’t be afraid to add your embellishments directly onto your photos!

imageI’ll be back soon to share some creative play with the new Summer Love set!! TFL!! 🙂

Outdoor Adventure

Hi! It’s Miriam here today sharing a layout I made using May releases.  Lately it seems I’ve been inspired to make layouts, I’m usually a bit intimidated by the 12×12 page but I really enjoyed creating this one and I like the way it all came together.  I used the camera triangle from the Happy Trails Triangles wood veneer set and also a few pieces from the Wanderlust set.

Outdoor Adventure

The pictures scrapped here are about a mini adventure at the park with my little one.  It rained here in Texas for about 2 weeks straight, so needless to say there weren’t many outdoor activities taking place and my three year old was really missing our trips to the park.  This day we decided to beat the rain and headed out early, after about 45 minutes there the wind picked up and the dark clouds rolled in, we knew a storm was coming so we ran back to the car to beat the rain and she thought it was hilarious and  laughed all the way to where our car was parked.  It was quite the adventure for her!

I combined the May releases with Cocoa Daisy kits, the papers I used have a travel theme to them and I took the tag paper and cut it apart then stitched on the tags to the background, simple and fun!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, thanks for stopping by!

So much summer love!

Hi everyone, Barbara here to take you thru the two projects I made using products from the May release. I have summer on my mind big time so everything worked really well for me.

camping album2

The first project I made featured the Happy Trails Triangles. I had my scouting days on my mind as we are prepping for a weekend camping trip with our friends so this album cover idea seemed like the perfect fit. I created simple two layered circles so that I could use the triangles as badges. I love the effect and the circles really draw interest to the triangles. I added in a few words from the Wanderlust set and added the year to mimic a troop number. A few of the glitter stars finished out my faux scout sash album cover.

camping albumx1

I love the dimension the veneer and acrylic pieces provide. It makes it that much more realistic. I can’t wait to fill this album with all of my pictures.

The second project I made was a Project Life spread featuring the Summer Love set.

spread 10 b

This yellow color is one of my favorites so using that large Sunshine piece was a must. My previous spread had a large 12 x 12 layout on the right hand side so I needed another full layout to fill the backside of it. I added some stitched sunrays and as many of the pretty pink and yellow stars as I could.

spread 10 left

I opted to keep the right side fairly simple adding in some of the veneer from the Summertime set and one from the Wanderlust set and added in some older pieces from the Coffee Lovers set and the Hashtag set. I think one of my favorite things that Jessica has added to her shop are the acrylic alphas. I just love having the option to spell out my own words and the Lemon Zest set was a perfect match to the yellow’s in the Summer Love set.

spread 10 right

I hope you are having fun playing with the new release items like I have!

Summer Love new release layout

Well hello again!

I’m back to share a peek at some fun pieces from the Summer Love set! Aside from the Foodie set, this one is definitely a fave!! I am featuring my adorable little nephew here from last summer…coincidentally taken on his first dip at Gull Lake, where we have our family cabin! (I say coincidentally because I featured the lake in my Wanderlust layout too!)

imageI had fun stamping and adding Thickers to the mix for my title, but love how the Sunshine acrylic dominates the title!

image…and what could be better to finish off any layout, card or PL card than a pinch of wood veneer?

image…completely adore this bright, happy set! Check out the entire set and more in the Color Cast Designs shop!!

TFL!!

🙂

“Summer Love” Layout

Hey y’all! It’s me again, Kathleen, and today I want to share a layout with you that I made using the beautiful new Summer Love set.

Summer Love Scrapbooking Layout by ScatteredConfetti for Colorcast Designs

Right when I saw this set, I was in love! I love the bright pink that makes me thing of bougainvillea and peonies, and the fresh white and yellow bits and pieces in the set that remind me of icecream 😀

When searching for a photo to use with this set, I immedietely knew where to look. On our last trip to the Costa Brava (Spain) we also went to Cadaqués, a beautiful little fishermen’s village and it was full of bright colours. On every corner you turned you would find a new place that would make you ooh and aah!

I kept the layout rather simple: white cardstock as the basis, just one patterned paper, a tag, a few bits and pieces (ephemera, vellum, enamel dots) from my stash, some stamping and watercolour / acrylic paint accents and the layout was almost done. Then I only needed to add my Colorcast Designs products (from the Summer Love set and the #fromwhereistand from the #Hashtagit set), and it was done 🙂

I hope you feel inspired now to put your Colorcast Designs products to good use (or get the Summer Love set, if you haven’t yet! There are only 3 left!)

Project Life//Week 22

Happy Wednesday! I am sorry about the blog hiatus. No other excuse than life has been super busy!

Today I am sharing week 22 of Project Life®. I am still all over the place on my Project Life. I started the year doing monthly and that wasn’t working so I switched back to weekly and I am not loving that now. I am really going to sit and think this thru. What is your approach? My 2015 album is going to be fun for future generations…it is going to be all over the place. And I am ok with that!

So here is week 22…I did this spread for the One Little Bird creative team with her new Frolic line. I adore it! Such beautiful colors and sayings.

onelittlebird-frolic-byjessicaupton

I also used my fuse to make the upper right pocket with the 2 triangles and wood veneer stars. For me, the fuse is taking a bit to get down. I am either not letting it get hot enough or it is too hot. Practice makes perfect! I went thru 3 page protectors “practicing” on this spread. Opps!

onelittlebird-frolic-byjessicaupton3

I used a few bits from the Ali Edwards Story kits and some of my new Acrylic ABC’S on this side. And can I just point out that amazingly cute puppy (yes, I said puppy). That is my nephew doggie, Lincoln. He is one big ball of love!!!

onelittlebird-frolic-byjessicaupton2

That is all! I hope you enjoyed my spread. Have a great rest of your week!
