All The Gold Things!

Hello, Becky here today sharing the beginning of my wedding album! My fiance and I got engaged on March 2, 2015 so of course my first order of business was to find the right papers and embellishments with which to scrap the whole process!

I am using a lot of different bits and pieces from various Color Cast Designs sets throughout this album – mostly the gold acrylic pieces from the Basic Sets , the gold ampersands, stars and the gold pieces from the Passions set!¬† Most of the papers and embellishments I am using are from My Mind’s Eye On Trend collection. For each picture below I will try to link back to all the products that I used!

This album has been a ton of fun so far and I am LOVING how it is coming out! I am also using my Fuse tool a lot in this album to make the 6 x 12 page protectors that I have the perfect sizes for what I want to do!

Acrylic Gold Glitter Heart from Color Cast Designs | Happy Day Vellum from Dear Lizzy | Gold Foil Chipboard Alpha from MME

I really wanted to use specialty vellum for my cover page so that you could see through to the pictures below. I love that the vellum adds texture and creates a fun preview of what’s to come!

I am so excited about getting married at Helwig Winery in Amador County! It was love at first sight and required multiple selfies! ūüôā

Gold & Mint Heart Die Cut from MME | Acrylic Gold Glitter Heart from Color Cast Designs | Striped Patterned Paper from MME |  Gold Foil Chipboard Alpha from MME

I broke out my sewing machine to stitch across the words I cut with my Silhouette just to add some extra detail!

Gold Acrylic Love from Color Cast Designs | On Trend Sequins from MME | Patterned Paper Squares from MME

Here is where I really got creative with my new Fuse tool! I took a 6 x 12 Becky Higgins page protector and chopped off the bottom third. Then I used my Fuse to divide up the protector into smaller pockets for sequins and patterned papers.

In the sequin pocket I added the Gold ampersands from the Color Cast Designs April release as well as the clear glitter hearts from the Basics Set! This pocket is my FAVORITE!! The clear glitter hearts are stunning embellishments!

On the backside of the insert I did some journaling about our relationship and experiences since our first date over 4 1/2 years ago!

¬†Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a look! Remember that you can take 10% off your entire order from Color Cast Designs using the code, “Rebmnmny.”

Color Cast Designs//April Releases

Happy Third Thursday of April! How is April half over already? It is new release day and I thought I would share all of the new releases on here with a quick photo of some of the Design Team’s projects. They will each be back with their own post’s and more details on their projects throughout the next month. I love every single project and am so excited to share them with you! All of the new releases can be found here on the home page of the store.

These spreads by Barbara are just gorgeous, don’t you think? Barbara is new this month and I am plain giddy over her projects. Just looking at them makes me smile. She has a beautiful family and it shows in her projects.

Oh my gosh, Becky nailed it with this amazingly cute photo of Jaxson on his Gotcha Day. Note: I do know that Becky’s version of the wood veneer is spelt incorrectly and I have fixed it since. No one will get a set with it misspelled…well, except Becky!

Next are Jen’s page’s. I love when Jen scrapbooks. She is just so good at it. Not that I don’t love her Project Life, cause it is pretty awesome too! Her photography is also something that I adore about her: the coast, food photos, her awesome adventures with friends and her pets…all so good!

The next couple of Project Life spreads are from Mandy! I love how she keeps the photography the focal point of her spreads. And, she loves good white space which is something that draws my eye right in. Isn’t her pup, Addie, just adorable?

And last, but not least is this awesome Project Life spread from Miriam. Hello gorgeousness! I love the colors, the photos and her embellishment placement. I love how there is plenty of white space, yet lots of color on this spread!

I also wanted to let everyone know that I still have limited sets of the #myselfiescrapbook and album covers available here.

Ok, that is it for today! Watch the blog over the next couple of weeks for additional projects and detailed posts of these gorgeous spreads. My international Design Team girls, Kim and Kathleen, will also have several projects coming up! It takes a bit longer for their products to get to them.

Project Life//Insert to my kids

Happy Wednesday! I did this insert from my Project Life album as a letter to my kids using the brand new Postscript line from One Little Bird. I adore the line so much, Peppermint did an awesome job of making some of my favorite colors appear in this line! Perfect for writing a love note to my kids. These photos of them are a few years old, but I love them so much that I decided to use them for the insert. Who said everything in your 2015 album had to actually be from 2015? The words are, just not the photos. I am ok with that.

My love for sequins continues on this pocket made from the vellum in the Postscript kit (actually printed on vellum). I also printed out some of the P.S. I love you paper and punched some hearts out of it. Haven’t used my punches in a while and I kind of love how it turned out!

I used my Silhouette to cut out the “just a note” and the pink “hearts” and added glossy accents over them after attaching them to my pocket pages to give them a pop of shine.

And here is a close up of the letter that I wrote my kiddos. I hope that they treasure these pages as much as I treasure making them.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of your week!

Christmas in March

Hello! ¬†Jen here sharing a Project Life spread of photos from last Christmas. ¬†So yeah, maybe I’m a little behind on Project Life. ¬†Or maybe I just don’t like to scrap in chronological order. ¬†But I couldn’t resist these Color Cast Designs silver glitter stars–they fit perfectly with this spread!

Processed with VSCOcam with s3 preset

Using acrylic embellishments can be so versatile. ¬†I don’t know about you, but I collect business cards (particularly from restaurants) like it’s my business. ¬†I have tons of them! ¬†And finding different ways of featuring them in Project Life is sometimes a challenge! ¬†This particular star being just the outline, provided slight coverage, but yet you could still see through to the card. ¬†I first stitched the card to my PL card and then attached the glitter star with glue dots. ¬†Perfecto!

Another twist the acrylics can provide is to your journaling.  Yes, journaling!  It added the perfect 3-D touch to an otherwise flat card.

Lastly, what better spot to place a star, but atop a tree.  Again, this star allowed see- through to the photo without masking the image itself.

Thanks for stopping by! ¬†Be sure to use my code “jecarl” to get 10% off all your Color Cast Designs orders! ¬†Happy Scrapping!
